10:30 Herään keittiöstä kuuluviin ääniin just sopivasti pari minuuttia ennen herätystä. Suomalainen ystävä on kyläilemässä. En jaksa nousta heti, vaan jään sänkyyn lagaamaan hetkeksi.
10:30 I wake up to the sounds coming from the kitchen, just in time before my alarm goes off. A friend from Finland is visiting me. I don’t have the energy to get up right away, so I spend a little while just laying on my bed.
11:10 Aamupesun, pukeutumisen ja hiustenlaiton jälkeen onkin yhtäkkiä jo vähän kiire. Teen pikaisen aamupalaleivän, ja maistan kookoksen ja limen makuisia suklaasuukkoja. Ostettiin paketillinen eri makuja joulumarkkinoilta, ja ollaan maisteltu niitä pitkin viikkoa.
11:10 I wash up, get dressed and do my hair, and then suddenly I’m in a hurry already. I make myself a quick breakfast sandwich and try out some of the chocolate kisses we bought from a Christmas market earlier. Today’s flavors are coconut and lime.
11:25 Nyt pitää juosta ovesta ulos, jotta ehdin ajoissa kouluun. Tavallisesti mulla ei ole tiistaisin koulua, mutta osallistun yhdelle projektikurssille, jossa tehdään hyväntekeväisyyttä, ja pidetään tänään vohvelinmyyntipistettä koululla. Meillä oli myynnissä myös glögiä, joten sai hengata aika ihanan jouluisen tuoksun keskellä.
11:25 Now I really need to get going in order to not to be late from school. Usually I don’t have anything on Tuesdays, but I’m participating in a project where we do some charity, and today we are organizing a waffle sale at the campus. We are also selling some mulled wine, so it’s smelling really nice and christmassy.
13:30 Koko vohvelivuoro oli aika kiireinen, mutta nyt mun vuoron lopussa on sellainen ruuhka, että päätän jäädä vielä hetkeksi auttamaan. Otan myös muutamia kuvia projektin someja varten.
13:30 Our waffle sale was quite busy the whole day, but at the end of my shift we had so many customers that I decided to stay a little longer. I also took some photos for our project’s social media.
14:00 Vihdoin kotona! Ystävä on jo lähtenyt keskustaan, joten postaan nopeasti projektin Facebook -sivulle, laitan lisää lämmintä päälle ja lähden itsekin kohti keskustaa.
14:00 At home, finally! My friend is already at the city centre so I just quickly post something to our project’s Facebook page, change to warmer clothes and leave to the centre too.
15:00 Oltiin mietitty etukäteen kahta ihanaa kahvilaa, joista toinen on yksi mun lemppareista ja toisessa oon halunnut käydä mutten ole aiemmin ehtinyt. Ystävä ehti perille aiemmin, ja valitsi jälkimmäisen. Hyvä niin, koska sieltä sai myös lounasta. Päivän lounas oli misokeittoa possulla, mutta mun pettyneen ilmeen huomatessaan myyjä lupasi tehdä samantyylisen keiton kalasta ja tofusta. Ihanaa palvelua! Juomat oli myös tosi hyviä, joten tänne tuun varmasti uudelleenkin.
15:00 We had looked up two lovely cafés, the first one is my one of my favourite places here, and the other one just seemed really nice. I left the decision to my friend, who chose the latter one. It was a good choice, because they also have delicious lunch there. The lunch of the day was miso soup with pork, but they were really kind and offered to make it with fish and tofu for me after seeing my sad face. Our drinks were really good too, so I’ll surely visit this place again.
16:30 Siirrytään pikkuhiljaa kohti joulumarkkinoita. Ystävä haaveili samantyylisestä joulukuusenkoristeesta jollaisen itse olin ostanut jo aiemmin, joten johdatin meidät kyseisen koristekojun luokse. Sen jälkeen lähdettiin erästä lahjatavarakauppaa kohti, jossa myydään paikallisten tekijöiden taideteoksia, t-paitoja ja sen sellaista. Yksi mun lempikaupoista täällä!
16:30 We are leaving the café and going to visit the Christmas market. My friend wanted to buy a similar kind of ornament I had bought before, so I lead our way to the ornament stall. After that we continued our way to a design store where they have some nice products from local makers. Prints, T-shirts and other things like that. It's one of my favourite shops here!
18:00 Takaisin rautatieasemalla. Ystävä on ollut koko päivän liikenteessä ja lähtee kämpälle lepäämään. Koulun jouluillallinen alkaa pian, joten lähdetään vaihtarikaverin kanssa kävellen sitä kohti. Tässä kohden päivän kenkävalinta alkaa hieman kaduttaa (korkeat korot), mutta perillä pääsee onneksi istumaan. Illallinen alkaa oikeasti huomattavasti myöhemmin kuin kutsussa luki, mutta olipahan ainakin aikaa jutella pöytäseurueen kanssa ennen ruokailua. Postasin illasta omankin postauksensa, jos kiinnostaa lukea enemmän saksalaisesta jouluillallisesta.
18:00 Back to the main railway station. My friend has been walking around the centre the whole day, so she goes back to my place to rest. A Christmas dinner of my uni is starting soon, so I meet another friend at the station to go there together. At this point I'm slightly regretting my shoe choice for the day (high heels), but luckily there are chairs to sit on at the destination. The dinner starts way later than it said on the invitation, but it was okay as we had time to chat with other people in our table. 22:00 Vihdoin kotona! Jutellaan vielä ystävän kanssa hetki ennen nukkumaanmenoa.
